Overview

We are looking for a network management professional who values connecting with people and has a curiosity-driven desire to learn. They will join the Software Business Unit SPC (Software Defined Networking, Planning and Control) product management team working closely with Fujitsu Development and Sales organizations. The role requires strong collaboration and communication including internal sales and supporting external customer meetings. They will work to drive roadmap and product launch deliverables as well as support the product post sale. Taking initiative, strong communication and organizational skills are critical to succeed in this role.  Virtuora Network Controller is the leading open, optical SDN controller in the industry.  Virtuora has been featured in TIP open initiatives and is the first deployed multi-vendor optical controller with the OpenROADM Project. 

 

Responsibilities & Success Factors

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to support customer meetings and defining requirements 

  • Understand customer pain points to drive technical product requirements from roadmap to delivery

  • Work with the customer support teams to address field issues 

  • Managing product releases that introduce new features, and requirements  

  • Work closely with hardware product teams to ensure required provisioning and management of products is included in the software roadmap

  • Collaborate with test teams to validate the solution

  • Manage and facilitate customer lab evaluations and demonstrations by working with Sales and internal teams to ensure customer outcomes are met

  • Contribute to customer RFP (request for proposal) responses at a technical and business level

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field is a requirement, advanced technical or business degrees are a plus

  • 5 years experience in network management software industry is a requirements, 10 years experience is preferred

  • Experience with open networking protocols, standards and models including: YANG, NETCONF, Transport-API, OpenConfig, and OpenROADM

  • Experience in product management or/and product development 

  • Prior software development or software testing experience is a plus

  • Familiarity hosting video conference meetings with internal stakeholders and customers
