JOB DESCRIPTION

What will you do at Fujitsu?

Virtuora is the platform for a comprehensive, adaptable, modular suite of software products that enables building and growing a virtualized, programmable network. Utilizing the team’s expertise in SDN control of L0/L1/L2 packet/transport network with Virtuora Network Controller (VNC), Virtuora is now making headway into the 5G mobility network control through the building of Virtuora Mobility Controller (VMC), and you are invited to join us to take part in this once in a career opportunity!

Virtuora software utilizes a micro services architecture and leverages open-source technologies to provide complete suite of intelligent controller functionality, i.e. control, planning/design, management, service fulfillment and assurance intelligent functions. We have done this successfully in Optical network, and we are ready to make an impact in the mobility network!

We are looking for an experienced Software developer to be a seed member of this brand-new solution. The candidate for this role will have hands on development experience in an R&D role in a carrier grade Telco EMS/NMS/Controller development organization. It would be very beneficial if the candidate also has 5G RAN experience/understanding. 

Responsibilities:

• Be a member of the VMC solution, understanding the architecture design, implementation and test of VMC.
• Take part in the development of EMS/NMS/Controller software; influencer for software development environment tools including building effective CI/CD environment for the solution
• Particiapting in 5G function development for a SDN inspired Mobility Network Management System
• Understanding software requirements for the overall solution while working on personal assignment; following defined architecture and progression plan for the R&D team
• Take part in the Intelligent RAN applications software function development in Network Slicing, Service Management & Orchestration space.
• Self-starter & self-motivator with a penchant for exceeding customer’s expectations & deliver high-quality solution 
• Participate in Telecommunication/Data Communication domain modelling using standards like TMF, ORAN, 3GPP, ITU-T, ONF, MEF, MTNM

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of Experience in development of Mobility and/or Transport Network management solution; wireless experience preferred
• Experience in software development for telco products, preferably with EMS/NMS/Controller software development experience or with wireless 4G/5G knowledge and experience in delivering carrier grade product to market.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to effectively collaborate with fellow team members.
• Hands on experience in Core Java, Threads, Collections and Data structures
• Understanding of 5G/ORAN based mobility networks and ORAN OAM, RIC, O1 interfaces; A1 knowledge could be beneficial.
• Hands-on experience of some communication protocols such as Netconf, and modelling tools such as Yang, Json, XML
• Experience in unit test, continuous integration (CI/CD) frameworks such as Junit, Jenkins, postman
• Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, Bitbucket, JIRA, Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Nice to Have:

• Understanding of 5G RAN
• Exposure to ONAP based SDN controller
• Exposure with Open Daylight (ODL) based SDN controller development
• Exposure to graph data structures/database, path computation algorithm implementation like Dijkstra, Yen
• Exposure to messaging frameworks like Kafka and Java related frameworks like OSGI, Spring, Blueprint
• Experience in SNMP, SOAP & CORBA
• Knowledge in Kubernetes, Docker, HDFS, ElasticSearch, Spark and distributed big-data systems; hands on experience in containerization and cloud platform such as Azure and AWS are highly desirable
• Familiarity with Layer 0 (DWDM), Layer 1 (OTN) and Layer 2 (Packet) SDN application functions is highly desirable
• Experience in designing and developing REST APIs would be beneficial
