This position will work with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their requirements and discover opportunities for improvement across workstreams such as the contract lifecycle and other core functions of the legal and commercial team. The successful candidate will be empowered to drive best practices supporting the legal team on all aspects of local and global legal/contract tech applications, handling ad-hoc queries from within the team and wider business, and helping to manage, review, implement, and improve processes and technology used by the legal and commercial team.

Job Description

  • Assist in the identification, implementation, and continuous monitoring and improvement of key processes, guidelines, templates, and forms to improve efficiency of the legal and commercial team.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of the legal operations strategy, metrics, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with all other departments to drive organizational goals, provide legal support, and assist with operations. Organize and track deadlines related to department initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate and establish professional working relationships with legal and commercial employees that promote successful completion of legal matters and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Organize and maintain all legal systems-of-record. Operate key technology systems and processes related to legal matters, projects, workflows, entity management and contract management. Serve as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including ongoing system administration and communications, and training.
  • Assist with legal vendor onboarding and management, including review of outside counsel invoices for adherence to policy and monitoring of expenditures against budgetary targets.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve current processes to maximize productivity, workflow, and maximize department's efficiency.
  • Perform special projects and responsibilities assigned by the General Counsel and Manager-Contracts.
  • Gather and organize data related to legal projects. Create and publish periodic reports and dashboards.
  • Prepare and review contracts under supervision of attorneys or contract negotiators.
  • Use data to drive effective decision-making within legal (data analytics).


  • A desire to learn and develop in the role. Curiosity as second-nature. Satisfaction in solving problems and enjoyment in supporting improvements and change. 
  • Demonstrated interest in and facility with technology in relation to complex project management.
  • Mastery of Microsoft 365 applications. Additional technical proficiency strongly preferred (experience with SAP or comparable ERP, workflow tools, and contract lifecycle management).
  • Proven ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality. Experience of working in a legal team (either in a law firm or in-house) strongly preferred.
  • Strong initiative, and great attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and patient.
  • Excellent analytical skills and comfort with multiple data sets, with the ability to draw conclusions and make informed recommendations
  • Adapt to the diverse needs of a small team and address requirements with flexibility and creativity.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (plain-English drafting strongly preferred).
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to forge relationships with internal clients and outside contracting party representatives. Excellent collaboration skills and consistency on communications are essential.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently to establish and manage work priorities, activities, and timelines to achieve results.
  • Exhibits sound judgment and swift decision-making skills.
  • Strong organization skills, accurate, and detail oriented.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
  • Previous experience with Conga Contract Intelligence, SAP, ServiceNow, LegalSifter, or DocuSign a plus.
