The Network Modernization Services (NetMod) product manager position encompasses a wide range of activities supporting the day-to-day operations of NetMod services.  The product manager will perform project quoting functions for NetMod projects on DCS, ADM, and other ancillary systems interacting closely with other NetMod Product managers, sales and solutions sales.  The product manager will also work closely with the EFI+T quote team to ensure accurate quotes and will be responsible for maintaining the automated quoting tools.  The Product manager will also maintain the NetMod proposal templates and assist with the creation of professional templates for NetMod Services.  Additionally, the Product manager will work closely with the delivery organization to make sure the quotes are verified for profitability and adjust quoting as needed.

 

This position will have ownership of the day-to-day activities of NetMod service solutions.  This position will work closely with Delivery to develop new procedures, standardize templates, test automation, design and test new service offerings. As a recognized SME the candidate will serve as a mentor for NetMod Delivery personnel.  The product manager will work closely with services management and delivery to forecast service growth and resource requirements.

 

This position will be the technical SME for NetMod services and will work closely with Sales, professional services management, the NetMod Engineer and the quote team to quantify solutions and to get accurate quotes out to our customers in a timely manner.

 

This position will also support customer visits as necessary to grow and develop the business:

 

 The following is a list of high-level activities the NetMod Product manager will perform:

 

  • Review and analyze pre-sales service requirements to provide accurate quotes
  • Work with the quote team to ensure accurate and timely quotes
  • Create and maintain service proposal templates
  • Work with Delivery organization to verify quotes accuracy against actual times and adjust tools
  • Work closely with the NetMod Product Managers to maintain the weekly NetMod funnel
  • Work with the NetMod Product Managers to keep abreast of upcoming requirements
  • Work with the NetMod Product Managers to create back-office mechanisms to standardize new service offerings
  • Maintain all work instructions and documentation to ensure TL-9000 compliance
  • Assists in developing and testing new NetMod Services
  • Serve as POC SME for NetMod services as needed
  • Develop Presentations, Diagrams, and other technical documentation as needed
  • Work with Sales on business case development and technical inputs related to NetMod

 

Qualifications:

  • Four year degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge on network transport equipment: ADM, ROADM, M13, DCS, MSS, WDM, DWDM etc.
  • Deep understanding of SONET and SDH Networks
  • Previous experience developing complex quotes
  • Previous experience in a professional services organization
  • Previous experience engineering live-traffic migration projects
  • Expert on SONET transport systems: ROADM, WDM, ADM, DCS
  • System familiarity with multiple equipment vendors: Fujitsu, ALU, Cisco, Nortel, Tellabs, etc.
  • Knowledge of traffic remapping processes: High Speed Wraps and Hot Cuts.
  • Customer familiarity with all Telecommunication customer types: Wire line, Wireless, Enterprise, MSS, CLEC, etc.
  • Advanced data parsing skills in Word and Excel, Data parsing, MACROs, advanced editing, advanced use of functions
  • High level skills with Visio and diagram automation and standardization
  • Advanced technical documentation skills and ability to create complex standardized quoting tools, Automated templates, network diagrams, and detailed PowerPoint presentations
