Looking for an experienced optical networking professional in the Cloud Infrastructure Provider (CIP) market space who is energetic, process focused, articulate, understands optical design, and has a history bringing new CIP features to market. The successful candidate will have direct work experience at a tier 1 CIP company associated with their optical networking infrastructure. Other past roles defining new product and management of field deployed product within the CIP market space is beneficial. In addition the candidate should have experience developing business cases to support budget requests, and the ability to work closely across teams and directly with key customers to support Sales & Marketing activities

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Author detailled optical and operational requirement documents which define feature specification for engineering development
  • Communicate and provide technical training of product capabilities to internal teams, customers and industry events
  • Act as customer advocate, providing customer application and market driver information to support feature prioritization and technical development
  • Assist in creation of successful business plans, with both technical and business financial strategies, to gain project development commitment and customer adoption
  • Develop & present customer messages for resolution of faults, field issues, or new feature requests
  • Investigate field issues, negotiate resolution plans with internal and external stakeholders and drive resolution projects to delivery
  • Provide technical input to RFP creation
  • Assist Account Management with P&L financial analysis of customer deals that may be considered periodically
  • Provide Competitive Intelligence into Planning on  technologies and products of interest to the CIP market, Optical component market trends, and competitor capabilities

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical area, advanced degree beneficial in technical role
  • 10 years industry experience in optical networking with direct optical equipment experience in development or Product Line Management
  • Deep understanding of Cloud Infrastructure Provider optical networking technology and topology with direct work experience preferred
  • Understanding of Operational Support Systems and Open standards concepts is beneficial
  • Customer Presentation Skills and Experience
  • Good project management, teamwork, marketing, and communications skills
  • Able to travel as necessary, at least 30% of the time
