Fujitsu Network Communications is looking for a Technical Proposal Writer who will produce Fujitsu’s formal responses to customer Requests for Proposals/Information (RFx) by coordinating project teams across internal subject matter experts and key stakeholders.

 

This role is in the Proposals Development Group (PDG) that supports the Sales team and associated Business Units in writing RFx responses that share Fujitsu’s mission to contribute to the creation of a networked society invoking people, information, and infrastructure through our constant pursuit of innovation. 

 

  • Fujitsu receives various RFx opportunities from customers seeking product and service solutions in the telecom market.  You will be assigned to organize an internal team to write and submit Fujitsu's response to the opportunities. The scope of RFx inquiries could range from optical transport equipment and wireless product support to software innovation and end-to-end service integration.
  • A typical day as a Proposals Project Engineer will consist of leading project team meetings, assigning responsibilities for response development, keeping track of project milestones, and writing executive summaries and other RFx deliverables. Compiling the final RFx response for submission to customers is the target responsibility.
  • In this position, you will report to the Director of Business Management under the SVP of Sales & Marketing.
  • You will work with coordinated project teams that represent Sales, various Business Units, technical experts, commercial management, and any other internal contributors as necessary.
  • The goal of any RFx submission is to win business. The RFx submission is the starting point for us to tell our “Why Fujitsu” story to the customer. Revenue and market share growth are outcomes of being successful with RFx submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall proposal response process for individual RFx responses
  • Collaborate with Business Units and Sales teams to establish compelling responses to win business
  • Write effective responses that clearly communicate to customers our business solutions and advantages
  • Ensure proposal content is accurate and high quality for customer submission
  • Maintain internal records and databases
  • Act as window and point of contact for internal and external customers
  • Position owns: final proposal submission, proposal project schedules, proposal response format, and data collection
  • Position influences: product/solution message, RFx response strategies, and customer perceptions

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in writing, creating, editing, and publishing written responses in both point-by-point and solution selling form
  • Ability to communicate effectively across many organizations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Action- and results-oriented work habits
  • Proficiency in MS Office

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communications, Engineering Management or related field
  • 2-10 years of work experience
  • Experience writing proposal responses for telecom or other technical industry preferred
  • Demonstrated success with project management and organizational skill
