Services SD-WANaaS Solutions Architect Job Description

The FNC Services organization is looking for a Services Consultant to join their team in Richardson, Texas. Consultant is a critical component of the Services SD-WANaaS Practice team, and drives innovation in Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) related technologies for delivering SD-WAN solutions to the end customers.  Candidate has the responsibility to work with sales for technical sales activities in new and existing opportunities as well as designing and testing solutions for the customers.  Good understanding of overall network ecosystems particularly network virtualization, service orchestration and service operations and deployment to enterprise subscribers.

 

Responsibilities

Candidate provides leadership to the team in design and development of SD-WAN network for the end customer. The person will be required to work with SD-WAN vendors and customer’s network engineers, security engineers and operation support team to design, test, validate SD-WAN. The candidate needs to perform the following duties:

  • Participate in pre-sales meetings with end customers to help sales team answer technical questions
  • Work with the end customer to understand the detail of the network requirements
  • Create detailed design for the SD-WAN working with various network equipment vendors
  • Understand the security impact of the design and be able to answer any customer questions on the impact
  • Come up with a plan to deploy the SD-WAN in the customer environment
  • Help deploy the SD-WAN devices at the customer environment

 

Required Candidate Skills and Experience

  • Hands on knowledge and subject matter expertise in IP networking technologies: OSI Layer 2-4 protocols, IP network architecture, application traffic flows, cloud security architecture, and security best practice.
  • Expertise on various cloud provider environments such as AWS or Azure
  • Good understanding of AWS and Azure network architecture
  • The candidate will educate and train sales teams and external customers on the service portfolio
  • Proficient with Linux environments (Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS, etc). Experience in Linux administration is a plus
  • In-depth working knowledge of Service Provider networks and operational support processes
  • Knowledge of how cloud services architecture projects/programs, technologies, standards, processes and/or controls fit into both the Enterprise and Service Provider environment
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and complex organization, requiring creativity and flexibility

 

Additional Requirements

BS Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience desirable

  • 10+ years in IP networking, Network Security, Network Operation, Managed Network Service Delivery, Cloud Virtualization, and Cloud Computing field.
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience with cloud based firewall is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to conduct meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally, as needed
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff and vendors
  • Previous experience working with/presenting to an executive audience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required
