Are you a curious and motivated student looking to gain hands-on experience in the world of optical networking and embedded software development1Finity America Inc. is seeking interns pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields to join our Software Development team in Richardson, TX.

 

As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects that contribute to the development of next-generation optical transport systems. You’ll gain exposure to modern software practices, embedded Linux development, and collaborative engineering workflows.

 

Internship Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of software components for optical networking platforms.
  • Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and agile development ceremonies.
  • Support debugging and troubleshooting efforts across software and hardware interfaces.
  • Contribute to documentation and automation tasks to improve development workflows.
  • Learn and apply best practices in embedded systems and network software development.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming, especially in systems or embedded contexts.
  • Experience working with or learning Linux-based development environments.
  • Exposure to version control systems like Git and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Interest in networking technologies and embedded systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PythonGo, or Rust is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.

 

Bonus Experience (Not Required)

  • Academic projects or coursework related to networking, embedded systems, or telecommunications.
  • Familiarity with tools like JiraConfluenceDocker, or Kubernetes.
  • Interest in areas such as network telemetryAI/ML for network optimization, or open source contributions.
