Position: Software Engineer I

JOB DESCRIPTION

What will you do at Fujitsu?

Virtuora Network Controller (VNC) is the platform for a comprehensive, adaptable, modular suite of software products that enable you to build and grow a virtualized, programmable network. VNC software utilizes micro services architecture and leverages open source technologies to provide complete suite of SDN controller functionality, i.e. control, planning and design, operations and management, service fulfillment and assurance functions. We are looking for a software engineer who is experienced in Java as well as skilled in data structures, algorithms & agile software development methodologies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop the SDN applications software functions.
  • Develop Layer 0 (DWDM), Layer 1 (OTN) and Layer 2 (Packet) SDN application functions on a SDN controller based Network Management System.
  • Participate in requirement analysis, design, development and maintenance of multiple software components of SDN controller to meet customer requirements using cutting edge technologies.
  • Accountable for as-planned execution and quality of the applications developed.
  • Issue investigation, status, and resolution during System Test.
  • Candidates for this job should have strong technical, analytical and programming skills.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills along with an ability to work in a team environment will also be key assets

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 0-2 year's experience 
  • Experience with Core Java, Threads, Collections and Data structures
  • Experience in unit test frameworks such as Junit.
  • Expertise in OOAD, Design patterns, UML modelling
  • Working knowledge of Python, UNIX scripting
  • Working knowledge of Linux or ay equivalent UNIX flavours
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, micro-services technology
  • Motivated, goal oriented, strong work ethic
  • Ability to take the lead, responsible for project completion
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to change
  • Ability to collaborate on software development requirements and share innovative approach or ideas with team members.
  • Any of the following will be a plus:
    • Good knowledge with databases Oracle/MySQL
    • Exposure to Cassandra, HDFS, Spark, Kafka and distributed big-data systems
    • Exposure in designing and developing REST APIs
    • Exposure to messaging frameworks like Kafka and J2EE frameworks like Spring.
    • Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, JIRA, familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
    • Skilled in Agile methodologies, Scrums, Development framework and associated tools.
    • Object-oriented Analysis and Design. Experience with Open Source Software (using or contributing to)
