Are you a passionate and forward-thinking engineer ready to shape the future of optical communications? 1Finity America Inc. is seeking talented graduates (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields to join our Software Development team in Richardson, TX.
As a key contributor, you’ll help design, implement, and enhance next-generation optical networking solutions, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as AI-assisted diagnostics, cloud-native architectures, and real-time telemetry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software for next-gen optical transport and network automation platforms.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, and product management to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Debug complex issues across embedded software, hardware interfaces, and distributed systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in modern C/C++, with emphasis on modular, maintainable, and performance-optimized code.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, including system-level programming, kernel interfaces, and user-space development.
- Familiarity with telecommunications systems and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker).
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Strong debugging skills using tools like GDB, Valgrind, perf, or trace-cmd.
- Familiarity with test automation and scripting in Python, Go, or Rust.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and eager to learn emerging technologies.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Internship or co-op experience in telecom or embedded systems.
- Academic or personal projects in network protocol development, embedded Linux, or FPGA/software co-design.
- Experience with:
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) (e.g., ONOS, OpenDaylight)
- Cloud-native development using Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices
- Network telemetry and observability (e.g., gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- AI/ML for network optimization, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenance
- Cybersecurity for embedded and networked systems
- Open Source Software (OSS) contributions or usage

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $75,949 to $108,498 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
